The Licensing Bureau
This division is responsible for administering all forms of licensing of restricted products and services. That includes the licensing and registration of mages and the collection of DNA samples (allowing the use of ritual magic, evocation and commandment of watchers to follow the mage, and similar activities that may be useful to the security services), licensing of personal cyberware, the registration of cyberware patents, biotechnology and more.
PANICBUTTON
In certain districts of the city, visitors can have a portable telecom unit turned to transmit a PANICBUTTON signal. This may be done at any police station in the City, Temple, Palaces and Estates, and village Districts. Within those areas, the Metropolitan Police guarantees that at least one officer will arrive on the scene to render assistance within five minutes after someone presses the button.
Controlled Weapons and Equipment
Class M1: (either controlled substances of addictive nature or biotechnical devices.
Class M2: controlled substances of nonaddictive nature other than alcohol and nicotine
Class CD: Unregistered commlinks and Matrix program software.
Class N: Unregistered magical items of any nature (fetishes, grimoires, spell focuses, and so on)
Law Enforcement Agencies
The police in Britan are an armed, national force. The country is technically divided into a number of local sprawl areas which chief constables have jurisdiction. The British police are trained not to be bribed, impossible to bluff and they generally don't overlook minor misdemeanors. Large condo complexes and elite residential areas are allowed to count on private security firms in addition to regular policing. The Special Air Services (SAS) have special access permissions in the city due to their anti-terrorist poiicies for the safety of the country.
